Uses

I’ve seen a few uses page floating around, so I thought I’d make one… both for others and my own reference, honestly 😛

Servers…

I use Runtipi on one server, Coolify on another, and two Yunohost servers, in addition to the one that currently runs Sunset (and only Sunset). I am a little addicted to servers. This, a Dell Inspiron 4TB SSD 64GB RAM, runs most of my programs (including this site!). I have two HP Probooks with 8GB RAM and 512 SSD that run my Sharkey servers and various others, and an HP Envy 1tb SSD 12GB RAM runs Sunset’s server. All run Ubuntu 24.04, except the my Yunohost servers – the ProBooks – which run Debian 12.

Hosting…

Neocities + webring-u for webrings, Docker Compose.

Software…

I use Firefly for budgeting, FreshRSS for RSS feed tracking, Homarr for a personal dashboard, Uptime Kuma for uptime monitoring + Discord webhook downtime notifications, Forgejo for git, Linkding for bookmarks…

For photo editing, I use GIMP 2.0. For drawing, I use ibispaint X. For music and audio, I use a combination of Audacity, Bandlab, and audiotool. For videos, I use clipchamp and capcut. For giffing, I use built-in screen recording + ezgif + photopea + gifntext for adding text.

Misc…

For music, I use the AiMoonsa 64gb MP3 player that’s usually less than $35 from here. It’s actually been an amazing little device and it does ebooks, voice recording, etc too.

For email, I use Porkbun’s email forwarding system, protonmail, or [sighs] gmail.
